Maliyo is a Lagos-based game development studio that creates African-inspired games for mobile users with over 40 games in our portfolio. Maliyo infuses the continent’s lively culture and experiences into everything we create. Our goal is to embed Africa’s vibrant culture into video games through storylines, character development, immersive environments, captivating sounds, and strong visuals.
Essential Functions:
- Participate in training sessions to further develop marketing skills and knowledge essential for the role.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute innovative marketing strategies for Maliyo Games’ products and services.
- Assist in crafting compelling messages and content for various marketing channels, including social media, email campaigns, and website content.
- Conduct market research and data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
- Contribute creative ideas and designs to enhance the visual appeal of marketing materials and campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of marketing campaigns and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field.
- No prior marketing experience required, just your passion for marketing and the games industry.
- Strong interest in research, writing, designing, and communicating with keen attention to detail.
- Availability for full-time employment (40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
- Access to a laptop or working device for the internship.
- Self-driven, self-motivated individual with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a multicultural workplace.
- Proficiency in using tools such as Google Docs, MS Office, Canva, Miro, and Social Media.
- Basic understanding of planning, scheduling, and communication strategies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly and concisely to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
