Business Sweden Visits Maliyo Games in Lagos

Maliyo and Business Sweden

A Cross-Continental Connection in the Heart of Lagos

This week, we had the pleasure of hosting Business Sweden at the Maliyo Games studio in Lagos, Nigeria. 🇳🇬🤝

What started as a visit turned into something meaningful. It became an exchange of ideas, energy, and creativity.

As a proudly African studio, it meant a lot to open our doors and share our journey. From early concept to playable game, they saw it all.

Behind the Scenes: Our Development Process

We gave them a tour of our game development pipeline.

They saw how we go from story ideas to game levels. From concept art to character animation. From line of code to fun gameplay.

Best of all? They jumped in and played our games  and had a blast!

There’s something powerful about showing the world how we work. How much love we put into the details.

Sweden: A Global Leader in Games

Sweden is home to some of the biggest names in gaming.

Think Candy Crush Saga from King, Minecraft by Mojang, and innovators like Lootlooker.

That’s why this visit mattered so much.

To have a delegation from such a respected gaming hub engage with our work, here in Lagos — felt huge.

It was a reminder: African games have global relevance.

A Gift That Means So Much

As a gesture, our CEO received a beautiful Swedish gift — the Snöbollseffekten.

It symbolises how small actions can create big change over time.

That message hit home.

At Maliyo Games, we know that what we’re building may start small. But the impact? It can grow. It is growing.

One idea. One game. One connection at a time.

Why Visits Like This Matter

This was more than just a tour.

It was a moment of connection. A chance to build bridges between cultures and industries.

Here’s why these visits matter:

  • They help demystify African game development.
  • They create space for partnerships and collaboration.
  • They validate the progress we’ve made and push us to do more.

They remind us that we’re not alone — that others are watching, supporting, and rooting for what we do.

Africa Is Creating. And the World Is Noticing.

We believe in the power of African storytelling.

We believe in games that reflect our voices, our cities, and our culture.

We believe that great games can come from anywhere — and that includes right here in Africa.

Visits like this show us we’re on the right path. They remind us to keep going, keep building, and keep sharing our work with the world.

Let’s Keep the Momentum Going

To Business Sweden — thank you.

Thank you for coming, for playing, and for showing interest in what we’re building.

We hope this is the beginning of something bigger. More visits. More partnerships. More magic.

We’re just getting started.
